Overview

This help article describes how to create a single-axis tracker table (both 1P and 2P trackers).

Interface

1. Tracker - FT Ground - FT Roof: Choose table type

2. Choose 'New' or existing Table: Drop-down list to start a new table or edit an existing one

3. Table name: Has to start with a letter and no spaces are allowed

4. Use Voyager?: toggle to automatically fill in inputs for Voyager tracker

5. Orientation: Choose orientation of modules in table

6. Choose a module from the library: Drop-down list to choose module for the tracker table 



7. String Size: modules per string

8. Rows per tracker: 1P tracker = 1, 2P Tracker = 2 

9. Strings per table: number of strings per a tracker table. Typically 1 to 4 strings

10. Module spacing: the gap between modules (north-south direction for tracker)
10a: choose the unit

11. Additional Center Gap: input for the spacing between modules in the east-west direction (applicable to 2P trackers only)

12. Tracker Height: Height of tracker from the ground to the bottom of the module when at 0 degrees tilt

13. Extra TT Overhang North: distance from end of module in the north direction leaving room for module expansion, space adjustment

14. Extra TT Overhang South: distance from end of module in the south direction leaving room for module expansion, space adjustment 



15. Additional tracker configuration: Toggle to show additional tracker configuration

16. Driveline Gap: choose to add spacing for a driveline gap (also known as motor gap) by selecting Columns in the drop-down list. Specify after how many modules there should be a gap for a driveline or motor (After x Modules). Specify how wide the gap for the driveline or motor should be (Gap).

17. Bearing Cap Gap: choose to add spacing for a bearing cap gap by selecting Columns in the drop-down list. Specify after how many modules there should be a gap for the bearing cap (Every x Modules). Specify how wide the gap for the bearing cap should be (Gap).

19. Toggle to use advanced configuration for spacing

20. Pile quantity: number of piles (or piers) for the tracker table

21. Toggle to use asymmetric spacing in tracker

22. Pile spacing: spacing between piles. To provide different spacings, use commas (example: 5,6,6.5)

23. Toggle to favorite this table. When favorited, a table can also be used in other projects. To unfavorite, move toggle back

24. Create: button to create tracker table

25. Clone: button to clone tracker table. Once cloned, make your changes to the cloned table and save them by clicking the Create button

26. Delete: button to delete tracker table. Once deleted, the table will not show up anymore when you look for an existing table in field number 2

27. Reset: button to clear all inputs of the tracker table

Step by Step Guide


Create tracker table

  1. Go to SunDAT interface
  2. Click on the table icon 
  3. Choose Tracker to create a tracker table
  4. Fill out the form. The inputs 1-12 are most common. Feel free to also fill in the inputs under additional tracker configuration and include structure. Be advised, the inputs in include structure are required if you intend to perform civil analysis (i.e. grading or a slope analysis)  
  5. Press Create
  6. A new window will open to show you a preview of the table. In the top right corner you find the table's dimensions. Select the unit you wish to see in the units dropdown.  
  7. Click OK on the right bottom of the screen to return to the SunDAT interface


Edit table 

        1. Select the table you wish to edit from the drop-down list (point 2)

        2. Change inputs

        3. Click the Update button


Clone table

        1. Click on the Clone button (point 26)

        2. You will find the cloned table in the drop-down list (point 2)

        3. Change inputs

        4. Click on the Create button
